Mighty Kids Pediatric Therapy began with a simple belief: every child deserves to be seen, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
What started in 2018 as a desire to fill a gap in our community has grown into something much bigger—a place where children are celebrated for their strengths, families are heard, and possibilities are never underestimated.
A Little Dream. A Mighty Mission.
The idea for Mighty Kids grew out of the families I was already serving.
Children I’d worked with through early intervention were aging out of those services, and their families were wondering where they could turn next. Other professionals were reaching out, asking for help with their patients’ developmental needs.
These children needed support, but there simply weren’t enough pediatric therapy options close to home.
I wanted to change that.
More Than a Career. A Calling.
Pediatric therapy has always been more than a career for me. It’s a calling. I believe God has given me a heart for children whose strengths, abilities, and potential are sometimes overlooked, and for the families who love them.
I also believe God placed Mighty Kids in my hands as something to build, nurture, and faithfully steward in service to our community.
Families often come to us during vulnerable moments in their stories. They may have questions about their child’s development, concerns that haven’t been fully heard, or uncertainty about what comes next. I never want a family to feel that their concerns are too small, their child’s challenges are too great, or their hopes are unrealistic simply because the path forward looks different than they imagined.
Every child deserves to be seen for who they are, celebrated for their strengths, and supported as they discover all they’re capable of becoming.
We believe that progress looks different for every child. Sometimes it’s a milestone a family has been waiting months or years to see. Sometimes it’s a tiny step that might go unnoticed by the rest of the world but means everything to that child and the people who love them.
At Mighty Kids, those moments matter. Every child matters. And it’s our privilege to walk alongside families, helping children grow stronger, gain confidence, and discover new possibilities.
Our Clinic
At Mighty Kids, we believe therapy should feel like an adventure!
Our clinic is intentionally designed to be a place where children can play, explore, take risks, build confidence, and discover what their bodies can do. From climbing and swinging to balancing, jumping, and imaginative play, every activity creates opportunities for learning and growth.
Behind all that fun is thoughtful, individualized therapy. Our therapists use movement, play, and meaningful challenges to help children develop strength, coordination, balance, and independence—all while celebrating the things that make each child unique.
Located in Raintree Plaza in southeast Lee’s Summit, our clinic provides a welcoming space for families throughout Lee’s Summit and the surrounding communities.
Because at Mighty Kids, play isn’t a break from therapy. It’s how we help children thrive.
Meet Our Team
Jessica Brown, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
I graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2005 and have spent the past 21 years helping children with just about every challenge imaginable! I believe God called me to pediatric therapy and entrusted me with Mighty Kids to serve our community. My greatest joy is seeing children for who they are, discovering strengths others might overlook, celebrating every victory, and reminding families that their children are wonderfully made, deeply valued, and full of possibilities.
Regan Bellmyer, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Hi! I am a pediatric physical therapist who loves working with kiddos and their families. I attended Southwest Baptist University, where I completed both my undergraduate and doctoral degrees. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, playing games, crafting, and traveling. I also speak a little Spanish and enjoy using it in the clinic when I can. My favorite part of working with kids is that they make therapy fun, and nothing beats seeing their faces light up when they accomplish something they’ve worked so hard for!
Marta Christgen Rodgers
Physical Therapy Assistant
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science/Kinesiology from Missouri Western University in 1991 and an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapy in 1996. I have been practicing physical therapy since 1996 and have focused on pediatrics since 2022.
My connection to movement began early: I was a competitive gymnast from age seven through high school. Afterward, I coached elite-level gymnasts and helped introduce a Special Olympics program at the club. Today, I love working with children and supporting them as they build confidence, grow more independent, and develop skills they can use throughout their lives.
Rebekah Liberman
Administrative Staff
Bekah has been part of the Mighty Kids team since 2023, helping with scheduling and billing. She lives in Lee’s Summit with her two kids and her incredibly handsome husband!
Bekah has always had a passion for working with children. Before her daughters were born, she spent several years working at a state school for individuals with severe disabilities. Her own children have been attending Mighty Kids since they were babies, so she has experienced the benefits of early intervention firsthand.
One of Bekah’s favorite parts of working at Mighty Kids is getting to see the amazing progress the kids make and knowing what a difference early intervention can make in their lives. She also loves getting to know all the wonderful families who walk through the doors. In fact, some of her best friendships have started right there in the waiting room!
For Bekah, Mighty Kids is more than just a workplace. It’s a community she and her family are proud to be part of! ❤️
Melissa Turner, PT
Physical Therapist
I graduated from physical therapy school in Colorado, where I grew up and lived until 2019. I love hiking, kayaking, camping, reading, and most “crafty” pursuits. I dabble in jewelry-making, having taken metalsmithing classes from a jeweler in Western Colorado. Sometime during my college years, I realized I wanted to have a career that challenged me intellectually, physically, and emotionally, and that I was built to impact one person at a time. Pediatric physical therapy certainly fit the bill! I enjoy working with kids because they’re always open to input, genuinely “themselves,” and often soooo funny! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing children and their families gain skills, strength (of every kind), knowledge, and confidence.
Sadie Thomas, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Sadie is a graduate of the University of Kansas Medical Center’s (KUMC) physical therapy program (Rock Chalk!). She began her career in inpatient rehabilitation before discovering her true passion for pediatric physical therapy. Working with children inspires her every day, as she is continually amazed by their resilience and their ability to find joy in life’s simplest moments.
Outside of work, Sadie enjoys painting, unicycling, reading, and exploring all the amazing food Kansas City has to offer. She can’t wait to meet each new kiddo and see what imaginative game they’ll dream up with Bluey!
Kristen Pucket, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant
I have been a physical therapist assistant for 24 years. I went to Colby Community College in Kansas. I also played softball there. I actually met my husband in college. We have been married for 22 years and have two boys, Anderson, who is 16, and Weston, who is 13. I grew up in Nebraska, and my husband grew up in Kansas, so we kind of picked a middle point here in the Kansas City area. I worked in the school system for about 10 months a few years ago. But this is my first experience working in outpatient with peds. Having a child with Crohn’s disease and ADHD, I really feel like God has prepared me to understand what kids are going through when they feel like their brains and bodies are different from others. I have a passion for making these kids feel seen and celebrated, even the smallest of accomplishments or growth.

I joined the MKPT family in 2023, helping with billing and admin. I have a degree in Special Education, so my heart has always loved serving children with special needs. I am very blessed to serve our families, and it is a true joy to watch all of the MIGHTY things our kiddos accomplish.
